Caledonia – Jerry M. Davis, 51, of Caledonia, MI, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010, at Gilead Elder Care, Harvest Home in Berrien Springs.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Monday, March 8, 2010, at the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service, 249 E. Center Street, in Coloma, with Pastor Billy Long officiating. Burial will be private at Coloma Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service, Monday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family or to either the Apostolic Tabernacle Church in Benton Harbor.
Jerry was born September 12, 1958, in Benton Harbor. He was one of three children born to Phillip and Shirley Davis. Jerry was enthusiastic about life. He enjoyed “cruzin’ the plaza,” playing his guitar, and making people laugh. Jerry loved to study his Bible and was proud of being “Born again.” He was loved and will be missed by his family.
Jerry is survived by his brother, Jack (Karen) Davis of Watervliet; sister, Judith (Cliff) Sink of Sarasota, Florida; father Phillip (Carolyn) Davis of Griffin, GA; half-brothers, Michael (Lela) Davis of Gallatin, Tennessee, Duane (Brianna) Davis of Griffin, GA; half-sister, Traci Davis of North Carolina; nieces and nephews, Tellie (Brian) Closson of Sarasota, Florida, Brian Sink of Sarasota, Florida Jackie (Eddie) Ellis of Stevensville, Angel (Clevy) Roberts of Watervliet; 12 great-nieces and nephews; five great-nieces; and by a host of close friends.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Castanon; sister, Vickie Davis; and by his grandparents, William Earon and Vivian Johnson.
