Manuela A Ramirez

Manuela A. Ramirez, 93, of Benton Harbor and formerly of Sodus Township died Thursday, October 27, 2022 at her home. Services celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 2, at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Township with Rev. Miguel Ramirez, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Sodus Township. The visitation will be from Noon until 2 PM on Wednesday at the Fairplain Chapel. Memorials may be made to Caring Circle Hospice. Please share messages or memories at www.florin.net. Manuela was born on June 17, 1929 in Weslaco, TX to Frenando and Severa Avalos. She married her husband, Miguel Ramirez Andrade, in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 2004. Together they celebrated 54 years of marriage. Manuela was a longtime member of the Safe Harbor Church of God of Prophecy in Sodus Township. She was employed at the Comstock Fruit Exchange in Sodus for over 20 years before her retirement in 1993. Her greatest love was her relationship with her Lord and Savior. Her second greatest love was her family. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Her favorite nickname was "Macca" thats what her grandkids called her. Her beautiful smile and gentle spirit caused anyone that met her to instantly fall in love with her. She never met a stranger she greeted everyone with her kind smile. Manuela enjoyed cooking and feeding everyone who visited. Her other hobbies were she enjoyed doing was embroidery, working crossword puzzles, and shopping. Her family includes her children, Grace (Thomas) Curtis of Stevensville, Rev. Miguel (Sheila) Ramirez, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN, Maria (Gary) Williams of Morristown, TN, Irma (Gary) Andrade-Sprague of Kalamazoo, Nora Ramirez of Stevensville, Fernando Ramirez of Benton Harbor and Michael (Debbie) Hickman of Leavenworth, KS; her 12 grandchildren, her 10 great grandchildren and her 2 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her twin daughters, Elena at birth and Elva in 1992; her 2 sisters, Marie Elena and Raquel, her brother, Alberto, and her grandson, Anthony.
