Andrea J Powell Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Andrea J. Powell, 68, of Kalamazoo and formerly of the Benton Harbor area died, Sunday, December 19, 2021 at her residence. Services celebrating her life will be held at 5 PM on Thursday, December 23, at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Township. The family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 3 PM on Thursday until service time. Cremation has taken place. Please share messages or memories at www.florin.net. Andrea was born on August 8, 1953 to Junior Alsup and Carmen Green-Drury. Over her life she managed several restaurants, was an assistant manager at the Rite-Aid Drug Store, and was a caregiver at Spectrum Home Care. Andrea had a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Jordan College. She enjoyed cooking. Andrea loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family includes her daughters, Jessica Rutz of Kalamazoo, Tabitha (Tim) Harris of Niles, and Tanesha Rutz of Indianapolis; her 2 sisters, Linda Vance of Grand Rapids and Carmen Humphrey of Buchanan and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Victoria Britton, her brother, David Green, and her Great Grandson, Marlon Casnave.
