Anita J. Oglesby, 66 of Covert went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at her home. Services celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM on Monday at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Coloma. Burial will follow in Coloma Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to meet with the family from 2 PM to 5 PM on Sunday at the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Coloma. Please share memories, messages or photos at www.florin.net. Anita was born on Oct 27, 1950 in Caruthersville, MO to Royce and Dorothy Champion. She married her husband, Gerald Oglesby, and together they have celebrated 40 years of marriage. Anita was employed at Whirlpool for 30 years and retired in 2011. Anita was a very religious person and a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Coloma. She was great at arts and crafts, most recently, working on needle point. She also enjoyed gardening in her flower garden. She was an honest and witty individual who was always thinking about others. Anita was loyal and caring towards her friends and family. Her family includes her husband, Gerald; her children, Kimberley Wade of Coloma, Gina Anderson of Sacramento, CA; and Melissa Borah of Raleigh, MO; her brothers, Royce Champion of Essex, MO, Jerrold Champion of Manzanita, OR, Michael Champion of Coloma and Ted Jewell of Las Vegas, NV; her 8 grandchildren; her 7 great grandchildren, her special cat, Austin and her special friends, Valarie Hampton and Linda Bickers. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her son, Shawn and her daughter, Andrea, her brother, Dennis and her uncle, Glennie Cain who died in the Vietnam War.
