Cecil Ellen Craig Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Cecil Ellen Craig, 89, of Benton Harbor, formerly of Watervliet, passed away early Thursday, March 13, 2014, at the New Orchard Grove Extended Care Centre in Benton Harbor. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 5:00 at the Dey-Florin Funeral Home, 2506 Niles Ave., in St. Joseph. Funeral services and burial at North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Shores will be private. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.florin.net. Cecil was born June 17, 1924 in Blytheville, Arkansas. She was one of three daughters born to Samuel Houston and Ethel Brown. Cecil married Warren T. Craig and together raised three daughters, Sandra, Patricia, and Kathy. She locally worked for Auto Specialties, the Whirlpool Corp., Voice of Music, before retiring from Kaywood in 1982. Cecil enjoyed gardening, antiques, sewing, and made the best chocolate pie and homemade fudge in town. Cecil is survived by her daughters, Sandra Lynn Michael of Ft. Worth, Texas, Patricia Lee (Howard) Norman of Phoenix, Arizona, and Kathy Gail Prillwitz of Coloma; five grandchildren, Stephanie Rode, Travis Prillwitz, Amanda Arnold, Nichole Berg, and Kelly Prillwitz; 7 great-grandchildren; and by her sister, Betty Benedix of Benton Harbor. In addition to her parents, Cecil was preceded in death by her husband, Warren and by her sister, Margie Pierce.
