Charles Faulkner, Jr., 88, of Coloma and formerly of Benton Harbor died Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Caretel Inns in St. Joseph. Services celebrating his life will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 23, at the Dey-Florin Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in St. Joseph with Rev. William Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. The visitation will be from 2 PM to 5 PM on Sunday at the Dey-Florin Chapel. Please share memoires, messages or photos at www.florin.net. Charles was born on June 4, 1924 in Hayti, Missouri. He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII. He married his wife, Evelyn, in 1942 and she preceded him in death in 1991. Together they celebrated 49 years of marriage. Charles was an independent truck driver who retired in 1985. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Benton Harbor. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid bowler. Charles had a way with people that everyone around him loved. He was a devoted Christian and a strong family man. He is survived by his children, Tammy Blankenship of South Bend and Charles B. Faulkner of Indianapolis and his 3 grandchildren, Justin Faulkner of St. Joseph, Brittany Blankenship of Niles and Alex Wells of Waverly, TN.
