Crestelda V. Tiefenbach Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

St. Joseph – Crestelda V. Tiefenbach, 97, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 10, 2013, at the Willows Assisted Living Center in St. Joseph. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, October 15, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church Street, with Fr. Jim Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00, Monday evening, at the Dey-Florin Funeral Home, 2506 Niles Ave., in St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Research. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.florin.net. Crestelda was born July 10, 1916 in Indiana to John and Victoria Cuchinski. She was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph and worked for 15 years in the St. Joseph Catholic Schools cafeteria. She was an exceptional seamstress. Most of all, Crestelda cherished time spent with her beloved grandchildren and they remember there always being ‘cookies in the jar’ and time for a card game! Crestelda is survived by her son, Jim (Vicki) Tiefenbach of Mesa, AZ; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and by her brother, Harry Cuchinski of St. Joseph. In addition to her parents, Crestelda was preceded in death by her husband, August; and by her daughter, Patricia Heaps; and by her siblings, Rose Callender, Joseph Cuchinski, Caismer Cuchinski, and Alice Barrick.
