Denise M Hopkins Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Denise M. Hopkins, 63, of Benton Harbor died Monday, April 4, 2022, at the Lakeland Spectrum Medical Center in St. Joseph. Services celebrating her life will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 20, at the Greater Community Christian Fellowship on Nate Wells Drive in Benton Harbor. Burial will follow in Crystal Springs Cemetery. Friends and relatives will be received beginning at 10 AM at the Church . Memorials may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service or the Marie Yeager Cancer Center. Arrangements are by the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Township. Please share messages or memories at www.florin.net. Denise was born on August 23, 1958 in Benton Harbor to James and Willie Hopkins. She was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School and Lake Michigan College. She retired in 2006 from Meijers after 29 years where she was employed in the security department. After retirement she was a court stenographer until 2011. She was a member of the flower committee for the church. She enjoyed traveling, including trips to the Bahamas and trips to our Lake Michigan beaches. She loved dancing, enjoying good food, including her ever present Diet Coke. She also liked to watch Tyler Perry movies on the Hallmark Channel. She loved her grand dog, Sparkle. Denise was a stylish lady who always made sure that everything was done right Her family includes a daughter, Fallon D. Guess, of Union City, GA; her sister, Joyce Luckett, of Indio, CA; her granddaughter, Naimah; and her friend Mary Kynast, of St. Joseph. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James.
