Donald G. Hindmon, 64, of Coloma, passed away Thursday evening, Nov. 17, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Memorial Service will be held at 5pm on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, with the speaker beginning at 6pm, and with a dinner to follow at FOP Lodge, 3470 Angling Rd, Coloma. Cremation has taken place , arranged by the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Coloma. Memorials may be made to the Scholarship Fund at the Coloma Community Schools. Please share messages, memories, or photos at www.florin.net. Don was born on Oct. 13, 1952 in Watervliet to James and Bertha (Jackson) Hindmon. He graduated from Coloma Community Schools in 1971. He went on to study and completed an apprenticeship for an electrician at Saluto Foods. He remained employed there until the plant closed in 1984. After 2 years employment at Global Diecast, he was hired at Bendix, later known as Bosch Braking Systems, in St. Joseph, where he retired in 2013 after 27 years. Along with his devotion to provide for his family, Don had the uncanny ability to fix, build, or do anything. Don had a great ear for music and loved watching or attending NASCAR. He enjoyed fishing with his friends, hunting with relatives, bowling, golf, and wollyball with his coworkers. His family includes his daughters, Judy Hindmon of Dyersburg, TN and Lori (Steven) Hoese of Bremen, IN; his sisters, Lola (Jay) Smith of Lawton and Sandra Maas of Coloma; his 3 grandchildren (Blake, Steven, Jr., and Cole); his loving friend and caregiver, Jeanine Hindmon of Benton Harbor; cousins, 2nd cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother (James Hindmon), two sisters (LueElla Brown and Fernalee Hindmon).
