Edward O. Dill, 88. of Coloma went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 8, 2015, at the Timbers of Cass County in Dowagiac. Services celebrating his life will be held at Noon on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Coloma. Burial will follow in Coloma Cemetery where military rites will be held. The visitation will be from 5 PM to 8 PM on Monday at the Davidson Chapel. Memorials may be made to the North Berrien Historical Society, the SW MI Humane Society, and the 12 Corners Community Church. Please leave messages, memories, or photos at www.florin.net. Ed was born on Oct. 18, 1926 in Benton Harbor to Riney and Olga Dill. He was a veteran of the US Army during WW II. Ed married his wife, Donna Zechiel, in 1950. Together they have celebrated 64 wonderful years of marriage. He began working in 1952 for Reliable Heating as a HVAC technician. After Reliable he started working for Cook Heating in Benton Harbor and retired from there in 1991. During this time he was a Coloma City Policeman for 10 years. Ed is a past president of the North Berrien Historical Society, the Coloma Ambulance Service, the first president of the FOP Lodge 147 and a member of the Coloma American Legion Post 362. Ed also served as a Coloma City Commissioner and was a member of the 12 Corners Community Church. Ed loved being around people and being a part of the community of Coloma. He loved and was loved by all who knew him for his kindness and wit. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Donna; his daughters, Colleen (Russell Schultz) Cupani of Paw Paw and Jennifer (Dennis) Janecko of Coloma; his brother, Robert Dill of Watervliet; his sister, Bonnie (James) Joiner of Benton Harbor, his 4 grandchildren, Anthony, Michael, Angelina, and Sarah, his 3 great grandchildren, Tony, Rocco, and Emery; and his special friends, Harvey and Karen Schaus and Leonard and Linda Bockover.
