Forrest L. Head Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Forrest L. Head, 88, passed away early Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Berrien Center. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 12:00 Noon, on Thursday, April 4, at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service, 1053 E. Napier Ave., in Benton Harbor with Pastor William Hughes officiating, concluding with Military Rites. Burial will be private at a later date. Visitation will be held from 11:00 until the time of the service, Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Messages of condolence may be made to www.florin.net. Forrest was born June 27, 1924, in Batesville, Arkansas. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Forrest was a member of the Niles Ave. Baptist Church. He retired from Michigan Fruit Canners following 36 years of service as a Maintance Foreman. Forrest is survived by is wife, Mildred (Millie) Head; daughter, Jewel (Ron) Nimitz of Benton Harbor; three granddaughters, Cynthia Nimitz of Benton Harbor, Stephanie (Chris) Blaylock of Waterviliet, and Sara Head of Kalamazoo; great-grandson, Skylark Blaylock; and his half-sister, Juanita Tanke; and by several nieces and nephews. Forrest was preceded in death by his mother, Cealie Fisher; his son, Richard Head; his step-daughter, Deborah Williams; and by his half-brother, Clayton Gillhan.
