Geraldine "Geri" Stowers

Thursday, November 19, 2015 Geraldine Kelley Stowers, 87, of Coloma died Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family. Services celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, Nov 24, at the Coloma United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow at the North Shore Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends and relatives from 5 PM to 8 PM on Monday at the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Coloma. Memorials may be made to the Coloma United Methodist Church. Please share memories, messages, or photos at www.florin.net. Geri was born on Jan 28, 1928 in Poughkeepsie, AK to William and Gatha Kelley. She was a graduate of Coloma High School. She married her husband, Russ Stowers, in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 2008. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Geri graduated from Lake Michigan College in 1972 with an Associates Degree in Nursing. She was a LPN at Watervliet Community Hospital for 20 years before retiring in 1992. Geri loved her nursing career. She was a long time member of the Coloma United Methodist Church and served as the volunteer secretary for over 20 years. She enjoyed watching politics, reading and was a very organized person. She was a caring, hardworking, nurturing individual who was a best friend to her family. Geri loved taking care of her family. She is survived by her children; Bill (Avon) Stowers of Coloma and Mark Stowers of Coloma; her sister, Jane Irvin of Coloma, and her granddaughter, Amanda Stowers. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, William Kelley and Joseph Kelley, and her sister, Lorraine Butts.
