Herman D. Langston

Herman D. Langston, 70, of Benton Harbor, died Sunday morning, July 6, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. Memorial services celebrating his life will be held on Friday, July 11 at 2:00 PM at the First General Baptist Church in Coloma. Pastor Tom Langston will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service. Memorial donations may be made to the First General Baptist Church. Please share memories, messages or photos at www.florin.net. Herman was born in Batesville, Arkansas on April 10, 1944 to George and Emily (Roberts) Langston. He married Geneva Colleen Smith on October 8, 1999, and she preceded him in death in 2013. He was a member of the First General Baptist Church. Herman was a “great guy” to know, and a dedicated Christian with a giving spirit. He enjoyed fishing. Herman is survived by his son, Donnie Ray (Brenda) Stamps of North Judson, Indiana; stepsons, Billy Ray Minnix of Benton Harbor, Linda Minnix of Bridgman, Sheila Minnix Grimes of Coloma, and Patricia Minnix of Bowling Green, Kentucky; his brothers, Lester (Sandy) Langston of Beebe, Arkansas, Pastor Tom (Pat) Langston of Coloma, and Homer (Sandy) Langston of Cecelia, Kentucky; his sister, Imogene (Don) Wells of Bradenton, Florida; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Herman is preceded in death by his son, Herman Langston, Jr., in 1984; and his brothers, George Langston and Lee Langston.
