Saturday, January 17, 2015 James “Boxie” Baker, 66, of Benton Harbor passed away on January 16, 2015 at the Hanson Hospice Center in Lincoln Township. In honor of his wishes there will be no services. A memorial will be held at a later date for his family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are by the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Coloma. Please leave messages, memories or photos at www.florin.net. He was born January 23, 1948 to William and Eliza M. (Hughes) Baker in Caraway, Arkansas. He was retired from Piggott and Girls farm where he was supervisor of the farm. He was a corporal in the Army and served in the Viet Nam conflict where he received several metals. James is survived by a son, William Joiner of Benton Harbor, a daughter Tammy Joiner Sicurello of Benton Harbor, 2 sisters Doris (Bill) Lomax of Stevensville and Rachael (Cliff) Wilson of Stevensville, 4 grandchildren – Amber Joiner, Scotty Baggett, Cassandra Baggett, of Benton Harbor, Trisha Hudson of South Haven, 5 great grandchildren, mother-in-law Dorothy Wilcoxson of Benton Harbor, Special friends Fern Jeffcoat, Brandi (Gary) Garcia and family, many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his companion Sandra Joiner, 2 sons, David Hudson and Jimmy Joiner, a brother William Baker Jr., father-in-law Roy Wilcoxson.
