Lois A. Smith, 87, formerly of Coloma and Lawrence died Tuesday, April 02, 2013, at the Bronson Nursing Center in Lawton, Michigan. Services celebrating her life will be held at 1 PM on Friday, April 5, at the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Coloma. Burial will be in Coloma Cemetery. The visitation will be from 5 PM to 8 PM on Thursday at the Davidson Chapel. Memorials may be made to the North Berrien Historical Society or the Activities Dept of Bronson Nursing Home in Lawton. Please share memories, messages or photos at www.florin.net. Lois was born on June 24, 1925 in Coloma to John and Mabel Wolff. She married her husband, James W. Smith, Sr., on March 21, 1948 and he preceded her in death on January 5, 2004. Together they celebrated 55 years of marriage. Lois worked as a clerk with the Van Buren Mental Health for many years and also assisted her husband on the family farm. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Paw Paw, the North Berrien Historical Society and the Coloma Quilt Club. She enjoyed doing needlework, flowers and boating on Lake Michigan. Lois loved being with her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Jerry (Shirley) Smith of Melbourne, FL, Betty Pries of Berwyn, IL, Sue (Bruce) Herron of Paw Paw, and Jim Smith of Coloma; her brother, Leroy (Joyce) Wolff of Safety Harbor, FL.; her sister-in-law, Nancy Smith of Richland, MI and her grandchild, Gary Pries.
