Margaret L. Shellenberger, 100, of Bainbridge Township died at her home on Friday, April 25, 2014. Services celebrating her life will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 1 at the Dey-Florin Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in St. Joseph with Rev. Robert Confer officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 10 AM on Thursday at the Dey-Florin Chapel. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home. Cremation has taken place and burial of the ashes will be at Crystal Springs Cemetery. Please leave messages, memories or photos at www.florin.net. Margaret was born on April 16, 1914 in Bainbridge Township to August and Ernestina Krugman. She married her husband, Charles Shellenberger, in 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1988. Together they celebrated 48 years of marriage. She was teacher in the country schools for 12 years and was an organist at the Calvary Bible Church for many years. She enjoyed cooking and sewing even making her own clothes. Margaret attended the First Church of God in St. Joseph for many years. She had a sense of humor and encouraged her family to be independent. Margaret was a sweet Christian lady who always had a good word about everybody. She is survived by her daughters, Lillian (Dale) Rhowmine of Grand Rapids and Norma (Thomas) Turner of Bainbridge Township; her 4 grandchildren and her 6 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Louise Kublick and her 5 brothers, Walter, Charles, Robert, Fred and John Krugman.
