Berrien Springs-Mary Alice LaMunion, 89, of Berrien Springs, formerly of Stevensville, passed away Friday evening, March 23, at Jinny’s Place Adult Foster Care in Berrien Springs. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Wednesday, March 28, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2673 W. John Beers Road, in Stevensville, with Pastors Gerald Schroer and Jonathan Kruschel officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery. Visitation will the held from 5:00 until 8:00 this evening, Tuesday, at the Dey-Florin Funeral Home, 2506 Niles Ave., in St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to either the Berrien County Cancer Service or to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.florin.net. Mary Alice was born on October 1, 1922 in St. Joseph, Michigan to Raymond and Lillian Metzger and was a life-time member of the community. She married James E. LaMunion on April 17, 1943 and together had two sons, Dennie and Jerry. Mary Alice was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stevensville. She enjoyed shopping and traveling with her family and friends – particularly going camping. Mary Alice sold Avon for over 25 years. Mary Alice is survived by her son, Dennie of Berrien Springs; granddaughter, Lori LaMunion; and by six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mary Alice was preceded in death by her husband James of 61 years in 2004; son, Jerry; grandson, Robert; and by an infant brother.
