Raymond "Ray" Kinchen Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Eau Claire – Raymond “Ray” H.J. Kinchen, 77, of Eau Claire, passed away on Monday, March 12, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 on Thursday, March 15, at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service, 1053 E. Napier, in Benton Harbor, with Pastor Brian Rumer officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Shores. Visitation will be this evening, Wednesday, from 5:00 until 8:00, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the New Life Baptist Church. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.florin.net. Ray was born on December 18, 1934, in Bemis, Tennessee, to Hallie and Eva Kinchen. He was a minister since 1987. Ray enjoyed talking about the Bible particularly his favorite Book of Revelation. He also enjoyed classic cars, playing music and singing – his favorite song being, The Sun’s Coming Up. Ray will be remembered as being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Ray is survived by his wife, Opal (Hart) Kinchen; three children, Johnny (Deneise) Kinchen of Eau Claire, Randy Kinchen of Grand Rapids, and Michelle (Perry) Dues of Eau Claire; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; and by his siblings, Carolyn Fowler of Benton Harbor, Doris Anglin of Alabama, Neal (Debbie) Kinchen of Watervliet, Ronnie (Brenda) Kinchen of Watervliet, Billy (Kathy) Kinchen of Hartford, and Judy Smith of Benton Harbor. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by one grandchild.
