Ronald Arthur Fitz Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ronald Arthur Fitz, Sr. was born Aug. 1, 1942 to Arthur R. Fitz and Eleanora (Rorick) Fitz. He passed away on April 25, 2012 at home in Lexington, SC. Ron grew up on Paw Paw Lake in Coloma, where he worked for his father at their business Crystal Bait Marine. At the young age of 19, Ron married Susan (Tibbitts) Fitz, and continued to work for his parents till 1970 when he purchased the marina from his Dad. Ron was very community minded and his passion for helping others was displayed through his involvement in the following organizations: 48 years in Coloma Masonic Lodge, Berrien County Shrine Club, Scottish Rites, Low 12 Club, 38 years in Coloma Fire Department, Coloma Ambulance, Jessica's Picnic along with many others. Ron is survived by his wife Susan; his children, Lizabeth (Fitz) TerMeer, Jill (Fitz) Noack, Ronald and Denise Fitz Jr., James and Laura Fitz; 10 grandchildren, Katherine TerMeer, Meghan TerMeer, Justin TerMeer, Ashley Noack, James Noack, Jessica Noack, Rachel Fitz, Rebecca Fitz, Dustin Fitz, Leslie (Warren) Stevenson; two great grandchildren, Carter Stevenson, Ethan Fajardo. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Eleanora Fitz, his sister Nancy (Fitz) Emerson, two grandchildren Tiffany Fitz and Lindsay Noack. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 29, at 4:00 PM at the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service, 249 E. Center St., Coloma, with Pastor Wade Panse officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 28 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Coloma Masonic Lodge.
