Sylvia Adeline Hackel

Sylvia Adeline Hackel, 100, of Berrien Springs passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 25, 2015 at Royalton Manor. Sylvia was born on February 9, 1915 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Emmett and Sarah (Austin) Guy. She had a wonderful, full life and saw many things in her 100 years here on this earth. She retired from Michigan Bell Telephone after 20 years as a switchboard operator. After retirement she and her husband Harry traveled throughout the country, seeing and experiencing lots of what this country has to offer. She also enjoyed being home reading and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Per Sylvia’s wishes, no service will be held and cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of your choice. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers and 1 sister; her first husband Stephen; a son Robert; and her second husband Harry.
