Virginia Ann “Dolly” Crumb, 79, of St. Joseph, passed away November 6, after a brief illness. Visitation will take place Friday, Nov., 22, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at Dey-Florin Funeral Home in St. Joseph. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Sat., Nov 23, at 1:30 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Lake Michigan Catholic Schools. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.florin.net. Virginia was born Feb. 7, 1934 to Paul and Mary (Shutske) Landeck in Chicago. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1952. In 1954 she married Allen Crumb. They shared 59 years in marriage and raised one son, Mark. Before retiring Virginia worked for 35 years as a teller for Farmers & Merchants (later NBD) Bank. At the center of Virginia’s life were her Faith and family. She was a devoted homemaker and mother who cherished her loved ones, especially her grandson, John. A lifelong Cubs fan, she also enjoyed cheering for Michigan State and the University of Notre Dame. Virginia is survived by her husband Allen; one son Mark (Pam) Crumb; grandson John, of Benton Harbor; sister, Dolores Pepperl, St. Joseph; and brother, John (Jack) Landeck, St. Joseph. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who fondly remember “Aunt Dolly” for her love of life and spontaneity. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Marian Habel and Gladys Kibler, brother Howard Landeck, Robert Landeck and Charles Landeck; nephews Jim Landeck and Robert Landeck.
