She met some very dear friends at the Eleanor Club and loved to reminisce about them and her experiences. She married her husband, Don Deckert, in 1956 and he preceded her in death in 2007. Virginia was the bookkeeper at L & L Beverage for 16 years before retiring in 1994. She always had the best neighbors who looked out for each other. She was active at Trinity Lutheran Church and School for many years. Virginia was truly the rock of the family. She led by example which was a strong work ethic that has been instilled in her children. This was probably attributed to her background which was a military family. She was a great cook and her holiday meals were the best and not to be missed. She is survived by her children, Kathy (Mark) Hasse of St. Joseph, Patti (Jeff) Caple of Madison, AL Christopher (Sarah) Deckert of Bridgman and step-daughter, Vickie (Dan) Driver of Watervliet; her grandchildren, Amy McWilliams, Dylan & Caleb Caple, Alexis & Cassandra Deckert, Trevor & Parker Hasse, David Deckert, Kevin & Mark Little and their families; and her many nieces and nephews in California that were very thoughtful of her. She was also preceded in death by grandchildren Jacob Caple and Bruce Little, her parents and four brothers.
