Virginia L. Rantz Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Virginia L. Rantz, 79, of Benton Harbor, formerly of Coloma, passed away early Thursday, January 10, 2013, at her home. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Tuesday, January 15, at the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service, 249 E. Center Street, in Coloma with Pastor Mark Cowell officiating. Burial will follow at the Coloma Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00, Monday evening, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.florin.net. Virginia was born November 6, 1933 in Benton Harbor to Virnel and Vera Crowder. She married Gerald “Jerry” Rantz on October 10, 1951 and shared 58 years of marriage. Together they had 4 children, Deborah, Dale, Duane, and David. Virginia was a multi-talented artist particularly with painting. She also enjoyed dancing and playing BINGO. She and her husband enjoyed their winter trips to Florida and going on cruises. Most of all, Virginia cherished time spent with her family and friends. Virginia is survived by her children, Deborah Rantz Frank of Coloma, Dale (Ashley) Rantz of Indianapolis, Indiana, Duane (Rhonda) Rantz of Coloma, and David (Corrine) Rantz of Benton Harbor; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and by her sisters, Janet and Karol. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, in 2009 and by her brother Richard and her sister, Nancy.
