Ronald Bond Calhoun

On August 16, 2023, the world lost a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Ronald Bond Calhoun. Born on February 9, 1947, to Clifford and Jewell Calhoun, Ronald's journey through life was characterized by love, dedication, and a passion for creating. He was accompanied by family as he passed away at his home, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished. Ronald's early years were shaped by the bonds of family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Jewell, his four sisters, Sharon Milton, Nancy Antio, Jane Calhoun, and Judith Calhoun along with a grandchild, Lauren Oulton and a great grandchild, Rowan Marr. Ronald's greatest joy was found in his role as a husband, dad and papa. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Linda Calhoun, three children: Laurie (Richard) Oulton, Steve (Lezlie) Calhoun, and Jennifer (Michael) Fisher. Nine grandchildren: Taylor (Matt) Gwin, Jessica Oulton, Jordan Oulton, Chloe Calhoun, Keeley Fisher, Parker Calhoun, Isabella Fisher, Mitch (Kimberlee) Mandarino and Zachary Mandarino. Seven great-grandchildren: Abigail Mandarino, Chase Marr, Cole Marr, Annelise Mandarino, Penelope Gwin, Fox Gwin and Allison Mandarino. He took immense pride in watching them grow, supporting their endeavors, and imparting his wisdom. The lessons and memories he shared will continue to guide them in the years to come. He had an affinity for his grandkids and enjoyed spending time with his family while grilling, visiting and supporting them in their sporting and extracurricular activities. His skilled hands brought his visions to life through his talent for constructing and craftsmanship, while trying to pass down his knowledge every step of the way. A dedicated professional, Ronald's hard work and commitment were evident in his trade. He spent over 30 years as a union Sheet Metal Tradesman. Central to Ronald's life was his love for his wife, Linda, and family. His enduring partnership with his wife and childhood sweetheart was a beacon of love and support that inspired all who knew them. Together, they faced life's challenges with unwavering unity, creating a bond that stood the test of time. Ronald Bond Calhoun's legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the memories he created, and the love he shared. He will be remembered for his warm heart, his skilled hands, and his dedication to those he held dear. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the richness he brought to our lives and the enduring impact he had on the world around him. A memorial service, celebration of life to honor Ronald's life will be held on Tuesday, August 29th from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Senior Service of Van Buren County, 8337 M-140 South Haven, MI 49090 May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.
